Elderly Woman Critically Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle In Aspinwall

ASPINWALL, PA – An elderly woman was struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Aspinwall Wednesday morning, according to the Allegheny County Police Department.

The incident was reported to County 911 at 7:01 a.m. after it occurred in the area of Freeport Road and Delafield Road near UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital.

Allegheny County police said the woman was crossing Delafield Road towards St. Margaret Drive when she was hit by an SUV making a left turn from Freeport Road.

The woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The driver stayed on the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The intersection was shut down while the Allegheny County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit processed the scene.
