SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP, PA – One driver was killed and another injured when their vehicles collided in Sewickley Township Tuesday afternoon, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
An investigation determined that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling south on Clay Pike Road at about 4:15 p.m. and crossed over the center line near Orchard Drive. The Ford collided head-on with a northbound Hyundai Accent, causing the pickup to catch fire.
The Hyundai driver, a 71-year-old man, was killed in the wreck. The Ford driver, a 53-year-old man, escaped from his vehicle with minor injuries.
Both vehicles were seized. Police said they conducted an extensive interview with the Ford driver after his medical care was complete.
