1 Sent to Hospital Following Crash at I-279/I-79 Split near Franklin Park

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – One person was injured as a result of a collision Tuesday morning at the Interstate 279/79 interchange near Franklin Park, according to WPXI.

The accident occurred on the southbound lanes, prompting a response from local police, firefighters, and EMS personnel shortly after 9:05 a.m.

Little information has been released at this time, but Pennsylvania State Police said a pair of crashes, each involving two vehicles, unfolded at the roadway’s median strip.

One patient was transported to an area hospital. No updates on their condition have been disclosed.
