3 Hospitalized After Pedestrian Crash in Bloomfield Area

PITTSBURGH, PA – Three people, including a pedestrian, were injured Tuesday evening in Pittsburgh’s Bloomfield neighborhood following a crash, according to WPXI.

The accident happened at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Baum Boulevard, prompting an emergency response at about 5:35 p.m.

The driver told investigators his gas pedal became stuck as his SUV traveled toward the city’s Shadyside area. At one point, the vehicle struck a pedestrian, a tree, and then a utility pole.

Responding crews had to extricate the male driver from the vehicle following the series of crashes. He and a female passenger, along with the pedestrian, were all transported to an area hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

An investigation remains in progress. No pending charges or citations were immediately reported.
