5 Injured In 22-Car Pileup On Boulevard Of The Allies Ramp In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a 22-vehicle pileup in Pittsburgh on Thursday morning, according to the Pittsburgh Public Safety Department.

The collision occurred on the Boulevard of the Allies ramp leading to the Forbes Avenue ramp coming off of I-376 East in Oakland at about 6:30 a.m.

Five people suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital.   A number of vehicles were towed away from the scene.

Authorities believe the incident was weather-related, as frigid temperatures were causing icy and slick conditions on the city’s roadways.   Motorists were advised to drive with caution and be aware of traffic delays in the area.
