PLUM, PA – A multi-vehicle accident in Allegheny County on Tuesday afternoon sent five people to area hospitals, TribLIVE reported.
A Plum Borough school bus transporting students was among five vehicles involved in the collision, which occurred just after 3 p.m. in the area of Golden Mile Highway (Route 286) and South Duane Drive. Two cars went off the roadway as a result of the accident, and another wound up on its side. No details were immediately released on what led to the incident.
Two children on the bus were taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital. Over two dozen other students and the driver were evaluated at the scene by paramedics.
Two other people involved in the crash were taken to AHN Forbes Hospital and one was taken to UPMC East Hospital. None of the injuries were life-threatening.
Another bus was dispatched to the scene to take home the remaining students.
