LIGONIER, PA – A head-on collision in Westmoreland County on Monday morning sent seven people to the hospital, reports WTAE.
Police said it happened when the driver of a Porsche apparently crossed over the center line in the 3300 block of Route 711 in Ligonier. The car collided head-on with an SUV.
Police, fire crews and multiple ambulances headed to the scene to respond to the crash and help the injured. Five people were transported by ambulance, while two others were airlifted. One person was reported to be in serious condition, while the other injured victims were said to be stable.
The accident occurred near a Mutual Aid EMS facility, which enabled crews to respond more promptly to the incident.
