WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA – Several vehicles were involved in a collision Sunday afternoon in Washington that sent at least seven people to a hospital, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.
The wreck unfolded on Interstate 70 between I-79 South (Exit 21) and State Highway 136, or Beau Street (Exit 20). EMS crews were dispatched to the area at about 2:00 p.m.
Although no information regarding the circumstances of the event has been released, the South Strabane Fire Department said four vehicles, one of which was trailering a boat, were involved.
Four people had to be airlifted to local hospitals, suggesting critical injuries. First responders transported three other patients by ground ambulance.
It was not immediately apparent whether anyone is expected to be charged or cited for their role in the accident.
