Collision in North Versailles Injures 2, Topples Pole Onto Roadway

NORTH VERSAILLES – First responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision in North Versailles on Saturday.

A Facebook post by the North Versailles Fire Department at 7:38 p.m. stated that the vehicles crashed on 5th Avenue between Westinghouse Avenue and Auberle Street.   WPXI reported that two people were transported to a hospital, but no information was released on the extent of their injuries.

The accident also caused a pole to come down across the roadway.  5th Avenue was blocked in both directions until the wreckage could be cleared.   Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes.

The roadway was reopened at about 8:05 p.m.   North Versailles firefighters were joined in the response by area mutual aid departments.
