FAYETTE COUNTY, PA – A 65-year-old Donora resident lost his life last Tuesday night, August 20, following a collision in Menallen Township that left another person seriously hurt, according to WPXI.
Pennsylvania State Police said the accident occurred on Route 51 at the intersection with Upper Middletown Road, at about 9:30 p.m.
A preliminary investigation found that the victim was driving a Hyundai Elantra northbound on the highway. At one point, a southbound driver in a Ram Rebel crossed the median and caused the car to crash head-on with the Elantra.
The Fayette County Coroner pronounced the driver of the Elantra deceased at the scene.
First responders had the other driver, whose age and residence has not been disclosed, flown to a Morgantown hospital. While no information about the patient’s condition has been disclosed, officials say they are expected to survive.
An investigation remains open and ongoing.
