Driver Killed When Vehicle Goes Over Hillside In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department released details of a fatal accident that occurred on Friday evening.

In a Facebook post, authorities said police, fire and EMS crews were dispatched to the vicinity of Paulson Avenue and Rowan Street shortly before 6 p.m.

The responding units found that a vehicle had gone over a hillside and the driver was still inside.  The driver, a 28-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead later that night.

The area around Paulson Avenue and Rowan Street was blocked off to traffic while the department’s Collision Investigation Unit was at the scene.   The investigation into the cause of the wreck is continuing.
