WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA – One person lost their life Tuesday evening due to a crash in Fallowfield Township that left five other people hurt, reports CBS News Pittsburgh.
The fatal accident took place on Old Route 71, near the Mon-Fayette Expressway (State Route 43) overpass, at about 8:45 p.m. on October 29.
According to officials, one vehicle was heading westbound on Old Rt. 71 when it veered past the center line and collided with an eastbound vehicle.
The Washington County Coroner’s Office said a passenger from the eastbound car was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Four people were rushed by medical helicopter to area hospitals, and one other patient was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital. As of this writing, no information about the extent of their injuries has been released.
Pennsylvania State Police continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
