Man, 65, Dies Following Head-On Crash in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, PA – A 65-year-old man lost his life Friday morning as a result of a two-vehicle wreck in South Strabane Township, according to WPXI.

The fatal accident occurred on a stretch of East Beau Street at Eastpointe Drive. Washington County first responders were dispatched to the scene at about 8:40 p.m.

An early investigation by South Strabane police indicates that the victim was driving eastbound on the the road when his car crossed the center line and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle.

The striking driver, a resident of Eighty-Four, was later pronounced deceased by the Washington County Coroner the same morning. Officials determined that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No information about the other driver has been made available, but they sustained injuries deemed minor.

An investigation remains in progress, and no charges or citations have been reported.
