FAYETTE COUNTY, PA – Authorities responded to a pedestrian collision Monday evening in Perry Township that claimed the life of a 51-year-old man, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.
The fatal incident occurred on a stretch of State Route 51 near the Sunoco gas station in the township’s Star Junction area. It was first reported at about 7:30 p.m.
An investigation into the crash remains underway, but officials said the victim, a Braddock resident, was attempting to walk across the roadway when he was hit by an SUV. The Fayette County Coroner confirmed that he died from his injuries shortly after.
While no information about the involved driver has been disclosed, they remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
