Multi-Semi Wreck Closes Part of Pennsylvania Tpke in Bucks County

BUCKS COUNTY, PA – Several big rigs were involved in a collision Tuesday morning, November 12, on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Bensalem, reports CBS News Pittsburgh.

The accident impacted the westbound lanes (Interstate 276) near Exit 351, at the Bensalem interchange. It was first reported by CBS at 9:55 a.m., when a span of the highway from southbound I-95 (Exit 40) to Exit 351 had already been shut down.

While motorists were initially allowed to get by using the right shoulder or the exit ramp, they were later forced to detour off the turnpike using a parking lot. Alternate routes were advised for those traveling through the area.

While it’s unclear at this time what led up to the crash, emergency crews were on the scene clearing debris, which included a kind of spill.

No injuries or hospitalizations were immediately reported.
