PITTSBURGH, PA – Two people, including a Robinson Township Police Department officer, were injured Friday night due to a pair of crashes Friday night near west Pittsburgh, reports CBS News Pittsburgh.
The accident happened on a stretch of Campbells Run Road near Interstate 79. Officials say first responders were initially dispatched to the area because of a motorcycle crash that critically injured the rider.
As one officer was responding to the scene, they were struck by a separate vehicle. No information about the officer’s condition has been made public, and it’s unclear whether the driver of the striking vehicle is expected to be charged.
