TARENTUM, PA – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a car wreck in Tarentum on Tuesday afternoon, reports TribLive.
The crash, which occurred shortly before 3:11 p.m., happened on northbound Pennsylvania Route 28 just past Exit 14. Authorities said a Volkswagen Golf AllTrack was in the passing line of the roadway, struck a guardrail in the median, and spun out in the northbound lanes.
A woman who was a passenger was transported to Allegheny Valley Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. The man driving was detained after field sobriety tests and placed in handcuffs by state troopers.
The area was closed off to traffic while the crash was being cleared. The Volkswagen was towed from the scene.
