Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Box Truck At Pittsburgh Intersection

PITTSBURGH, PA – Pittsburgh police detectives are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Thursday morning, reports WPXI.

Authorities said a man in his 30s was struck by a box truck just before 11 a.m. in the area of Pride Street and Forbes Avenue near UPMC Mercy Hospital in the Uptown neighborhood

Investigators believe the victim was stumbling on the sidewalk and fell into the roadway prior to the crash.  The driver of the box truck did not see the pedestrian before hitting him.

The driver was reported to have remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
