ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA – A two-vehicle crash early Wednesday evening in North Versailles claimed the life of an 18-year-old driver, according to CBS News Pittsburgh.
The fatal wreck occurred on a stretch of Lincoln Highway near the intersection with Isaac Street. First responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m.
Allegheny County police said the teen was driving a sedan eastbound on the highway when, for reasons still being investigated, he drove the vehicle past the center line, causing it to collide with a westbound box truck.
Officers arrived to find the driver of the sedan deceased at the scene.
It was not immediately clear whether the driver of the box truck, who stayed at the crash site, was hurt and/or had to be hospitalized.
Authorities continue to investigate.
